Default help cam seal leak

Ok on the intake cam seal on the timing belt side i cannot seem to get it to stop leaking i have yet to replace the seal i put it together without any sealent (sp?) and it leaked so i tore it apart again and put some high temp black silicone and it still is leaking also the cam cap that is closest to the cam gear is a little worn nothing major as far as i can tell, all the rest are fine could this cause it? i also noticed that while the motor is running i watch the intake cam gear ( aem) and it doesnt look to be spinning completely true, but the exhuast is spinning perfect.... please and help

I would suggest getting a new set of cam seals and a nice tube of Hondabond HT fromt he dealer and your leaks will be gone

well if it is bent, definately replace it....it will create harmonics that could potentially harm engine components


and if you do replace it let me get it off of you to add to my little collection of useless parts....(it is a retarded hobby I have)

buy your cam seals at inlinefour if your close, they're only 10 bucks for both, while at the dealer they're 10 bucks each.

im in az, quick question the cam cap thats closest (sp?) to the cam gear on the intake side had some wear could this cause my cam to maybe be not spinning perfect and wear out the seal?

if your cam caps are not tight that could result in a bent set of camshafts

you need to make shure everything is in proper torque spec before you start buying things....and yes, if the cam si wobbling it can cause premature wear of the cam seal

all of the cam caps were torqued to 18ft and the little 10mm were to 8lbs just the one cap has some wear im going to be takeing it off and i ill post a pic...the cam looks perfect

eh that cap is fine.....just use some hondabond ht on the cam seal that you install

either that or some "mega grey gasket maker for imports" (they sell it at advance auto parts)
