How to disassemble the VSS?
I just bought a new VSS holder and I want to replace the middle holder peice. How do I remove the gear from the bottom? The top part is pretty self explanatory.

get it used from someone. parts like that are parts you ask for really, no one posts up VSS plugs that much, at least from what i have seen.
i used to have some gears and holders, if i do, they are probably broken

The VSS was very very easy to take apart. Basically comes apart in 3 peices.
The top plastic peice is removed by the 2 10mm bolts. Once you remove the plastic peice, the gear itself is removed by removing the look a like paper clip. Peice of cake. I didn't even need a flat heat to remove it.

Honda just calls it a "clip". Most VSS's use 90638-689-000
