Interesting Problems.
Fist of all I would like to say hello to everyone, I hear nothing but good things about this board and I plan to become a regular around here for sure.
Ok, here is my problem.
Resently I had a Hondata S200 unit installed on my car, the car is a 93 SI. While we were doing a inital tune the car started acting funny and threw a engine code. Cylinder Position sensor. We left the tuning at ajusting the vtec cross over and then took the car off the dyno because a sound, which I can best describe as packing tape being pulled off fleace started to occure. I went to honda and picked up a new ignission control modual in the hopes it would fix the engine code that I had. Installed that and then put the distributor back on the car. Later that day the distributors shaft seased and completely destroyed the inside of itself. But the on close inspection the Coil and ignission control modual seemed to look ok, so I removed them and got a new sub assembly. Installed both parts, new cap and rotor. Put it back on again.. After this the car ran find for about 2 days and then just quit on me. It turns out the ingnission control modual was damaged when the previous sub assembly died. So I replace that again..
Well.. After that the car goes about 2 blocks and then gives me cylinder position sensor again.. I say to my self.. screw this is costing way to much money as long as it runs I can't afford to fix it right now anyway. But then last night I am crusing home and my tach starts to jump all over the place. The car starts to spudder and basically run like a pile of crap..
Any ideas ? Should I blame this on my hondata, considering the ecu controls both ignission timing and fuel perhaps thats whats causing it ? Anyone ?
