Default Electric water pump

i've been running my electric water pump for like 2-3 years now and never really have had a problem. But just recently I've had few problems. I broken two timing belts in the last year. I'm not sure what happen but my problem is.....once I took the timing belt off the water pump gear it seems to be really wobbley. The gear or bearing seems to have come loose. Once I checked the gear it was tight but still wobbled. I'm not sure what is causing this. Are they just not reliable in that sense or is something happening when the timing belt breaks to cause this? This is the second one I've destoryed one Meziere and one AEBS water pump gears. Can anyone give me any input on this? Thanks.

so its the water pump gear thats cuasing you to break timing belts?...you should call them up and tell them to redesign the pumps/gears so they last longer..other than that how do you like the electric water pumps?do they flow more water?

I actually really love the electric water pump. if you want to cool down your car when your sitting in a parking lot...you can. just turn the pump and a fan on. works great IMO. I talked with meziere today and they seem really interested in what happen to me twice now. They told me to send them in and they will take a look at them. I've thought about running a stock pump with cut impellers but it just doesn't spin as freely as the bearing in the meziere pump. guess I just have to ride this out and find out what's gonna happen.

Thought I would revive this thread in that the gear supplied by Meziere where the water pump would be started going bad and wobbly on me. Inline 976 can you tell us what ever happened with Meziere on your issue?

I talked to the meziere technical rep. and he told me to meziere has never heard of the problems, but they are really interested. They want to know what went wrong and wanted me to send the water pump gear to them. I don't have the gear anymore due to I send my motor away to be build (by trackmasters). I got my motor back but without tons of stuff that was originally on it, like the water pump gear, raditor neck, and vtec solenoid (sp?). I so was never able to send it to meziere...but if anyone else has a problem with there gear. call this number (760)746-3273. it's meziere's tech line and they are more than willing to help.

I've also found in most of my research that the gear starts to become wobblly if the timing belt isn't tight and I mean tight. When the belt flops around the gear, the gear doesn't move in a circluar motion anymore, it has undue stress from other angles that cause the bearing to go out much faster than normal.

hope that help everyone out

to that. You paid someone to ransack your motor? I'd kick some ***, or at least talk about it.

wow, sad story about sending your block to trackmasters. even though they aren't around anymore, i haven't ever heard of any bad experiences with them before.
so is the timing belt supposed to be tighter than normal? or just tightened properly? a timing belt that is too light can make a whirling noise i believe, and also be more likely to snap i think

There's a really hugh thread about how track masters did a bunch of people dirty

I actually tighten my belt to spec before i got springs and retainers. So i'm unsure if over tightenin could have any affect, but after talkin to rocket about his springs and retainers i couldn't afford to break another timing belt. Rocket suggested that the belt be really tight becuz the number 1 reason timing belts break are due to loose timing belts.
