Default negative camber problem

i got teg spindles, skunkworks coilovers and accord blues shocks on my EF hatch. camber is at -3.6 degress. its silly looking and i cant get rid of it. its not even that low to the ground, coils are about mid position. i know there is no real adjustment but is there anything that can be done without getting a caster/camber kit?

i ate up new tires in a week and a half. outside is perfect, inside is shredding the steel belts now. they only adjusted the toe so i know that is good, but its still wearing the insides.

u are going to have to get a camber kit to adjust that and get an alignment unless you can find adjustable upper control arms.

That's your problem right there !!!

Just get the stock componenst and buy some H&R Ultra Low coilovers !

You can get an amazing ride with a looow drop , without too too much camber !
ps: thats the setup I have on my rex !

if you wore out your tires that quickly then you have more than a camber problem, you also have toe issues. That much neg camber will cause your tires to wear out quickly, but not in a week. Unless thats all you do is drive all day long on soft compound tires. Sounds like the guy who did your alignment didn't do a good job.

I agree. I drove around for 25,000 miles on a set of Dunlop FM901s with 3.2 degrees of negative camber in the front, and the inside edges did wear faster than the outside, but they still had at least 50% tread remaining (on the inside) when I swapped wheels and tires. The key is getting the toe set right. I was using 1/16" total toe out.

Your toe is still out of spec if you wore through tires that fast. Camber won't wear them that fast, as the others said.

Take it to a better alignment shop and tell them to fix the toe.

yup, our cars dont have a way of adjusting camber without a kit...and i agree with sicc83 get your toe fixed, dont worry about your camber too much...

i have -2.4 and -2.6 camber up front with my integra knuckles(spindles) and im fine, my toe are both at 0.00 each side and my caseter is within spec...

even if you get a camber kit i don't think they adjust that far and if they do you gotta relize that its gonna kick the top of the tire out, then you have to worry about the tire rubbing the fender.

either way your gonna go through tires, you gotta think whats more important chew up tires or having bigger brakes up front?

your choice

Camber is not your problem. That much negative camber alone will not wear your tires to the threads in an week and a half unless you drive 500 miles a day or something.

But what do I know? All I have is experience. Buy a camber kit and see what happens.

i don't think your listening....

BUY A CAMBER KIT!

its that simple. i had -2.5... got a camber kit... all set. if you keep your car that low you'll need an extreme kit which will bring you back to -1 or -.5

do your research call some companys they can tell you what the best camber kit for your car is. BTW i have HPC adjustable upper ball joint replacments.

ingalls, skunk2, ebay, what ever you want.... http://www.camp1320.com has a great set for sale too.

isnt this caused by teg knuckles? this is why we should use EX knuckles.

did you use the civic front UCA? or teg?

from what i've read here the teg knuckles and the ex knuckles are not negitive camber free... some people say they have issues with the teg...some say the ex...

either way... buy a camber kit. its that easy

3.6 degrees negative camber in the front will work awesome for autocross, especially if you stuff some wide tires onto some relatively narrow rims.

really? i thought it was a little excessive. i know about how the angle changes around turns, but i thought it would still be negative going hard around a turn
