All around vehicle maintainence...good tires (big hulky 17+ sizes won't help) Frequent oil changes, good air filter, good plugs, recent wires...don't need expensive aftermarkets, stock is good! Even things like having the right amount of air in your tires...Keeping the revs down is a must if you want to conserve fuel...and doing speed limit will help too althought isn't fun.

Retarding the igntion timing decreases fuel mileage and HP around the low RPM range. Mixture will burn later in the power stroke even though EGT's will tend to go up...because more of the mixture is burning in the exhaust manifold/header than in the engine itself. And to compensate for the lost HP due to decreased ignition timing, the accelerator has to be pressed more decreasing fuel mileage even further.
retard your timing....and weight.

That's true. Also look into getting an upgraded ignition system. Coil and wires. That way you get better MPG and throttle response.

i actually get better fuel economy now than i did when i bought my car 4.5 years ago... 28mpg city... the key? tuning your car on a dyno (with a V-AFC), driving more efficiently (yes, i too drive my car as hard as you all do), and proper maintenance...

There is a new product out but I 'm not sure how good it is. Its good the Tornado and its a relatively simsple device that you can install in your air intake. They say it can increase mileage from 5-20% just installing it. The theory is it provides a sideways 'tornado' that I guess allows better air intake into your engine. Check out http://www.tornadofuelsaver.com I havent gotten one yet but check it out.
