In my teg (99 sedan) I have the following:
Head unit: Premier P730
Fronts: Infinity Reference 6000cs
Rear: Alpine Type R 6x9's (don't actually produce much sound - it is faded heavily to the front)
Sub: 10" Alpine Type R (sealed box with a volume of .66^3 after speaker displacement)
Amps: Rockford Fosgate 400a4 (front and rear speakers)
Rockford Fosgate 250a2 (sub)
This system sound pretty good IMHO. It won't win any contests (SPL or SQ), but can go pretty darn loud, and pound in the process.
Basically my goal was to be able to listen to any kind of music (genre) at any reasonable volume and have it sound nice - which I can. I also wanted to be able to have all my windows and sunroof open and travel at highway speeds and have quality tunes - which I can also do. I pretty much eliminated the "wind" noise on the highway.

I have a 94 Integ and one 10" Fosgate in a sealed truck box. Heres just my opinon..
Go with the least expensive set up that you can and still produce decent sound. Although it all depends what your needs are, there are still people that want to "bump" and spend more money on their stereos then their shitty cars. I personally wanted a clean sound with any type of music and decent bass. In the last year I've gone through like 4 systems.... (broken into.. but I stil have my car)
I've run an Alpine (top of the line HU) with two fosgate amps/fan/and two fosgate 12"s. ... but I have only one 10 now and 1 200Watt amp and I still get alot of bass and clean sound.
Just a tip.. HIDE Your amp.. i got my car broken into and they didnt get it. just the box, always take your face from your head unit. If you get a truck box they are smaller and fit right up against your seats nice. PLus you still have truck space. If you really want to be hardcore bout it You can run like those steal bike lines and a lock it. (you can run it through the holes behind the seats and would hafta cut the material a bit) I-hooks on the box one on each side, or something you can bolt down without messing the sound. I did it.. and the last person who broke into my car just bailed.. time.. its all about ******* up their timing!
Good luck..

heres my setup. mtx 6000 12's wit a rf 500s amp. Eclipse in the front, and Kenwood b2's or something like that in the rear. I got bass blocks on all door speakers and it sounds real nice.
