Its not going to be much faster than a Stock ITR. Civic coupes are pretty heavy concidering they are civics and they dont have the structural strength of ITR. Get a hatchback cx, dx or so for best weight.

If you want faster times, then you putting that motor in the wrong car. EG6 will probably pull the best times, with that motor.

6th-gen civic looks better than the 5th-gen anyway.

One of my car club members has a C5 in his 6th gen civic coupe. I've seen him pull mid 14's in the car, but am not sure what his best time was. As far as mods, I know he has intake, header, and exhaust. He kept the A/C and everything else that came on the car. Its a full interior car with stereo.

Thanx a lot guyz.....yeah...my cousin is really stubborn..he just won't run his car....he keeps saying that his car was made for the roadcourse not the straightline..and that if he was worried about the strip..he would have gotten a 5.0 or an LS1 Z28....so getting his quartermile is on the last of his to do lists....but for me...both is very important... being able to out manuever a lot of cars with my chassis and suspension set up...Ground Control/Koni Yellow just for ur FYI..LOL..the best 860 i have every spent on my car!!! PUhaHAha..but anywhoo..the only missing link in my car is power...and i was very interested in turboing my puny D16 with a t4/t3 and run 14s reliably.....but i kinda want more potential...so a b18c5 seems to be a very good option for me...i plan to go with a toda Spec B package to be the biggest engine mod....and i expect to run in the high 13 to low 14 range...anything that will take a mildly modified 5.0 or an LT1 Camaro....So...to everyone who has been helpful in replying..thanks a lot...my cousin so far with just the stock b18c5...races LT1 and 5.0s all the time..and he pulls at least a length or a length and a half on them whenever he does race them....so....im thinking the mid 14 range is about right.....well...thats it for now...

(screech..!!) Brrrooooooooooo......,

i got a 97 CX with a 99 GSR in it...i pulled a 14.4 with a shitty intake, roadstone tires (brand X), and a 5 zigen muff. the hatchback is worth the trade in...i HAD a 96 EX coupe, but i new it just wasn't the platform i wanted for my swap

I am trying to make the same decision. B18c5 or B18c1 in a EK coupe or HB.
I donno but these posts are sure helping me.

So far best choice would be B18c5 not much difference in weight form the B18c1 but about 15 hp more. Depending if it is to European specs.

Both will be a good swap for autocross and 1/4 mile

have a jdm b18c R im my EK coupe fastest time so far is a 14.5 flat. street tires/stock pressure. Full interior. With Aem Cai, and exhaust only. Building it this winter will be able to get mid 13's all motor full interior.

i want a spec R engine in my coupe..dont matter if its b16 or b18...even tho b18 would be nice...
hehe..and no i dont have a full interior either...(just some spec R goodies) i'm sure with i/h/e i can pull faster then 14.5..then again i like to hwy battle rather than drag hehehehe..but i have no spec R engine..i'll just have to wait and see
