Air horn problems!
I am installing hella air horns on my g2. I am using the relay that came with the kit and wired everything up like this.
85: to ground
30: 12v (battery)
87: to + on the compressor
86: the wire going to the stock horn
I grounded the negative on the compressor and am using the blue/red wire as the wire from the stock horn. But what happens when I hook up my battery is the horn starts going off. But the driver side stock horn still only works when you press on the wheel. What I noticed is when i disconnect the stock horn on the driver side the air horn thats wire to the pass side wont work. Am I using the wrong side, should I use the driver side? Do I have any of the wires on the wrong way? What could be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

na, all the relay does is allow a low current signal to activate the relay, and a high current can pass through the relay
i'll have an edit w/ some info soon, gotta look up the pins and stuff of the relay
edit: put the negative of the horn to ground, positive to 85. put 86 to +12 battery. put 30 to ground as well, and 87 to the stock horn wire. if the schematic on the picture(linked) is the same numbering as the one you have, go ahead, if not, take a pic and show me. the 30-87 connection is the switch, hence the lever shape, and the 85-86 is the load, aka battery to +12 on horns

check the first or second, they're the same

ive got hella air horns on my car......dont use the relay that comes with the kit, they tend to go bad and burn out. just hook them up to your stock horn wires, disconnect your stock horn and it should work fine. ive never had a problem with mine hooked up that way......

ive seen this problem plent of times . the older g2 90-93 integra ,accords, and civics use a ground rest system . in other words if you check with a test light both wires they both give you a positve + reading . but when you hit the horn button and one of the positive(at the horn) turns into a negative ... i can send you a reverse ground at rest diagram if you still have that problem ... let me know swes2006@yahoo.com
