Default car trouble


i have a 91 integra ls... when i start the car, the rpm keeps on jumping up and down... why is that, and how can i fix that...

could be a vaccum leak, could be alot of things. how much do the rpms dance?

well, first when i start the engine, the Rpm goes really high at 3000 rpm and then after 10-20 sec, it starts dancing at 1000 - 2500 constanly... what could it be.

actually, most Honda's/Acura's are designed to do that when your coolant is low. Check your coolant. It's either low, or has an air bubble in it. If it is not low, have it flushed to get rid of any bubbles, which never hurts anyway. If that doesn't solve it, then it might be the Fast Idle Speed Valve. Most likely, it is your coolant system. I was informed of this from an Import Specialist when I couldnt figure out why my car was doing it.
