Low idle when cold..Need advice
I noticed that my engine does not have a high idle when i initially start in in this colder weather.. its been below freezing here lately and when stared, the engine should rev around 1.5-2krpm for a few minutes to get warm.. It usually stays around 1k..
i have to manually hold the throttle down to warm it up a bit.. I should mention that i have the coolant lines to the IACV disconnected and removed the FITV completely.. Is my problem a result of not connecting the IACV's coolant lines?? And also, is this causing my car to run pig rich for the few minutes that the car is trying to warm up.
I also noticed, it takes alot longer than normal for my engine coolant temp to get up to regular operating temperture.. in as little as 5 minutes of driving, it should already be rising, but w/ my car, it doesn't get to temp until maybe 10 mins afterwards..
thanks in advance..

It will still fast idle on cold starts without the FITV or the coolant lines running through the IACV or the throttle body.
The first two places I would look at are the engine management software for improper IACV duty cycle and ECT vs. idle speed settings and the idle speed adjustment screw on the throttle body. If the IACV duty cycle is too low, it won't fast idle, and if the idle speed screw is in too tight, it might not high idle.....I haven't had a personal experience with the second one and I'm not about to test it in this weather.
Post-start enrichment should be idealliy put you at briefly 11:1 and then up to mid-12:1 AFR's. The ECT enrichment should then be around mid-13.x:1 to low-14,x:1 ratios.
