Default Would stuffing my sealed enclosure do anything?

Setup:

JL 500/1

two 10" inifinities (250rms each) in a sealed box (2 cubic feet total)

Here's the question:

I see that some sealed enclosures are stuffed with some kind of cotton or fabric material. I was just wondering what exactly is the purpose of this and how would it change the sound quality? I'm thinking about doing this, so, any advice on what kind material i should use?

I think people stuff their sub boxes with polyfill to increase the volume of the box, as the sub will see it anyways.

It's spun dacron or upolstry fill, and yes, its to make the speaker think its in a bigger box ,[ it does the opposite it decreases the volume] but what the hell does a speaker know anyways 94
