Default How well do your hatches stop with passengers?

Now i know i can't expect my car to stop as well as it does with only me in it, but braking seems VERY inadequate when i have 3 passengers or 2 passengers with a packed trunk. I literally have to mash the pedal, but the car still only "glides" to a stop, it doesn't have significant opposing force.

Does anyone else experience this? Last time i checked my pads were still holding up. And as for driving alone, braking seems to be alright. I guess i can't expect much out of this fourteen year old car with fourteen year old braking components...
