throwing code 22 VTEC pressure valve, whats that mean?
can anyone tell me what exactly that code means?
do i need to replace vtec solinoid or is it fixable some other way?
i think it's the cause of the funny sounds that i mentioned in this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=925693
can anyone help me out?

Vtec oil pressure switch, either the switch is bad or your low on oil. 1 day vtec started cutting out the light came on and I checked the code.I was low on oil because I had a leaky valve cover.
I was also told to clean the filter screen on the top of the motor and there is an outside chance theres an issue with the ECU and or wiring. Wound up being 2 quarts low. We cleaned the screen for the heck of it, resealed the valve cover with Honda bond, and added the oil problem fixed.

nah, just a cold air intake
i changed my oil and reset the ECU and it cleared the CEL.
but it still doesnt feel right to drive it.
i need to pull off the vtec solenoid and clean it up and all that jaz, but i dont know how to get it off

i think it has something to do with the vtec engagement point and the ECU not corresponding. but i'm not sure
im having the same problem i have a 97 ek w/a 00 b16a2 and 97 gsr ecu, vtec engages just that it cuts off at 6800
I also have the same problem.. I recently changed my head and the vtec does not seem to work after that. I have a vafc but everything was fine before i changed the head. Still trying to figure out the problem
i think it's an oil pressure problem
check the vtec solenoid and oil pressure switch.
thats what i was told after i originally explain the problem to an acura tech

Typically a 22 will be because you're low on oil, and without enough oil, the VTEC system doesn't create enough oil pressure to push the locking pin through the rocker arms-- it's like drinking an empty drink with a straw.
When you get the code with the VAFC, it could mean that you don't have the blue VTM wire hooked up on the VAFC harness, or when you have the pink and purple wires tapped into the wrong places.

You should be okay now that you've changed your oil. My friend through a code 22 in his '01 GS-R because he was 2k overdue for an oil change
. We changed the oil and it hasn't happened since.

mine is because my VAFC's vtec wire connecting to the ECU kept coming loose =P

purple (VTo)
i soddered it... but it kept coming loose. i didn't heat the wires up enough when i soddered.. just balled it onto the tip and applied it. that's why.

ok.. well, this is funny.
after blowing out the VTEC sol, and putting it back on, clearing codes, and looking at each solder, and wiggleing it, on the way home it started working? dunno what to think? maybe it was my soilders?
