i am planning on geting a tanabe becaus ei like the deep sound it gave my friends ef with a b16 in it. i don't want something that sounds like a weedwacker.
G Power Medallion sounded pretty good on a friend's 91 hatchy with dc header and z6 motor. The exhaust I just got is tiiite. Goes like this- stock header with only 1 bolt holding upper and lower together, so BIG LEAK. No cat, stock piping, and a bolt-on muff shooting out the wrong side. Recap- loud and raspy, with a lot of noise up front. I think I'm gonna grab a thermal.
everybody, bakes an exaust system for our cars...tanabe and trd are both nice.or if you want something with a subtle sleak look and a sound to match it go for a greddy of an hks system...

I think Tanabe is a perfect exhaust but that's just my opinion. I like that canister style look. DC and Greddy are also very good systems but they are a little too quiet for my liking. Tanabe seems to have more of a growl but stays within the sound limits as not to attract those Doughnut-Dunkers.

they dont make it anymore. anyhow i'm not the kinda guy that buys things to strut name brands. (not saying you are). performance is the only reason i'm doing this and in my opinion i dont think the mugen for an EF is that great. i'd really perfer a straight thru design (ie. 5 zigen, tanabe, even ultraflo). with 2.5 piping.
I loved my old Sheep Dog exhaust. It looked like it had a purpose, not all flashy and shiny. Allthough I dont have numbers to put down, but I know it performed better than a greddy I had. If only I could get a place to bring one in for me again...

tanabe, aka tanabe racing development...hence trd. not the other trd (toyota...)
as far as i exhaust i have a Stromung, pribably one of the onlyones in the U.S., i got it off a friend a ffew years ago. lot loud and obnoxious, uses stock mount locations, and has a dual outlet like the Stock Si exhaust.
Does anyone know if Tanabe makes a canister style cat-back for the EF hatches? I know they make it for the CRX.....you think that would fit my hatchback?

but the mugen exhaust isnt all cut out to be what its suppose to.
i own a mugen exhaust that i rarely use.
dyno proven? my greddy sp flows better.
but i run open headers most of the time anyways..
food for thought.

i'd rather get the Greddy MX for the CRX and then add piping to it to make it fit. cuz the MX is 60mm where as the SP is 50mm. And no MX for the hatch, only SP. but i dont think that its a straight thru muffler is it?
