On the DOHC engines, I slip the feeler gauge between the lifter and cam lobe by starting between the camshafts. You can do either side, but that side seems to work a little easier.

for a valve lash adjustment, youre going to need some feeler guages, 12mm wrench, and a flathead screwdriver. slip the feeler guages between the lifter and the cam with the cam lobes pointed up, you'll have to turn the engine a few times as you go along. you loosen the bolt that has a little flathead inside, and you turn the flathead right for less clearance, and left for more. hope this helps

you also need to rotate the cams and set it tdc and start with cylider # 3 than 2 than 1 than four...after each cylinder is done make sure to turen the crankcounter clockwise a 1/4 turn and continue...this job is easier with a snap on valve adjust ment tool that has the the screwdriver attached to the tool.
