How can you tell if your ECU is junk?
I have a 93 Del Sol with a b18c1 swap. I was driving on the highway my v-tech doesn't kick in anymore, speedometer went dead along with the cruise, plus it starts to die if I don't push on the throttle. My check engine light isn't on. Please help!!
What ECU are you using??
If you just did a swap,...
First of all....
here is the check list after a swap....if you want to hear vtec changeover
1. make sure all sensor are connected, and are in working condition (check ECU for codes)
2. run PREMIUM fuel (drain the crapy gas out if you did not!!)
3. egine must reach normal driving /operating temperature for vtec to activate.
4. Make sure oilpan has no dent on it.
5. check for ignition timming and bad axle, both can cause motor to produce less HP to the ground...therefore equal = no vtec power
6. stock del sol intake/exhaust can do alot of restriction to your newly swap b18c, it sometime cause vtec to not activate.
....this is just a few, I know there is more to this list you guys feel free to add on to it....

i had a similiar problem. there is a fuse for the VSS. if that goes out your spedo wont work and neither will your vtec. plus its tied inot your altenator so your batery will be drained and all your interior **** wont work. check that fuse. and all conections. bet its something really simple
