I don't quite understand why you call thie a mini-me question.

From reading your other post, you say you have an A6 and a Z6 longblock.

I would go with the Z6 longblock - that's what the kit was made for.
Using the Y8 manifold won't hurt. It's large plenum will be a nice addition to your turbo kit.

well the thing is that th a6 block needs rebuilt. the z6 head needs a rethread on the spark plug thread. and well i have a complete good y8 head.... so i want to know wich block/head combo would work better for the apexi turbo system.

It was designed for the Z6 so that's where it has manufacturer support and R&D.
That's the best bet IMO.
If you can't use the Z6 then I would do the A6 with the Y8 head. Get the compression to 9:1 and go with that.

Z6 head flows better than the Y8 head so I would still say the Z6 setup would be "best", but in your situation that head seems like more work than it's worth.

yea, i think i'm going with the a6/y8. just need to get some pistons and rebuild the a6 block. any sugestion on how to lower the c/r to 9:1? should i go with forged pistons or go oem with a stacked gasket? would the apex manifold fit on the y8 head?
