Like the topic says. This also, ONLY HAPPENS AFTER CAR WARMS UP. When I first start the car, or if it is in neutral the tach is steady. Once the car reaches normal operating temp, it starts to jump. It doesn't matter what rpm I'm at, if I'm accerating at a constant rate, the needle starts to jump.

I have a JDM B18C GSR in an ej. I have also noticed some hesitation after the car warms up. I think that it is a bad ignitor, but I'm not sure. Don't want to shell out all of that money for a part that I might not need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

 

I had a 79 280zx that did this, and it was a slipping clutch.

 

I had the same issue when my ignitor was going out. Try switching it out with another one and see if that fixes it. Im pretty sure thats your problem.

That was what I was figuring as well. I've heard that a new ignitor from honda is $170. EE_Chris told me about the distributer king and he is selling a new dizzy for $200. For the small difference in price, I'll probably go for the new dizzy. However, before I do all of that I'm trying to find somebody in the Southern New Jersey area who might have a dizzy lying around that I might be able to borrow. If anybody knows anyone who could help me out with this I would really appreciate it.

I think I am having the same problem.. Jumpy tach and sluggish acceleration. I am also getting farts out of my exhaust in second and third gear... do i need a new dizzy also? sorry to jack the thread but i think we may have the same problem
