Default Tachometer red wire connection

I need help. where did you guys connect your red wire(supposed to be connected to ignition 12V on/off switch) for your tachometer.
diagram and pix will be appreciated

i'm assuming it's a aftermarket tach. i hooked it up to the gauge fuse so only when the idiot lights come on does it work. What car is it for? i'll see of i can look up colors tomaro.

One of the two plugs (spade terminals) are 12v ign, the other is 12v lights.

yup crx_88_si is correct. just installed mine 2 nights ago with crx_88_si help. i believe the left one is ign power. and the right is light power.. so hook up your 12v in the left and your light to the right of that and your good to go..
