Default More problems

I posted earlier on my car that the tach is jumping and it is hesitating. Ok I fixed the distributor and the tach thing (jumping around), changed my plugs and fuel filter, the hesitation is slightly still there and now I have problems with acceleration. I start moving and then when i get to 2000 rpms it seems like there is power loss and little to no acceleration at all. I asked the guy who did some work on my car and asked him if it could be my cat (it has 140,000 miles on it). he explained that it could be and i need to get it replaced, so i plan to cut it off and put in a test pipe for right now. Also i think it might be time to replace or clean my air filter. My friend who just graduated Wyotech says it could aslo be my fuel pump sock. So does anyone have any idea or could it be the items i listed above. Need help quick (autotrader is calling me if i can;t fix my car).
