JDM side marker help
I have some side markers i'm trying to install. I am tapping into the corner wires for power so it blinks when the corner does. corner harnes has 3 wires, red, black and green. i tapped the red and black and attached them to the marker but i get nothing. anybody know what wires to use?
First off, keep in mind: green=blinking signal voltage, red=constant voltage, black=ground
...a bulb acts like a fuse...and will light up when voltage passes through it, but the trick a lot of people don't know about the circuitry in the honda blinkers is that the green acts as a ground when the blinker turns on due to a relay somewhere in the circuitry.
So to answer your question:
Wire up to green and red to make the side markers stay on with parking lights, and blink with the blinkers. (US trend)
Wire up to green and black, if you want them to just blink with the blinkers (Japanese style)
Wire up to red and black if you want them to just stay on whenever the parking lights are turned on (Trucker style
jk)

I hope so. Some people say they have black, red, and black/red wires, but either way, I stated what each wires purpose is, so just find out what each wire is by using a test light. I am sure black is ground for the lighting sockets...but just clip one end of the test light to the chassis (ground), turn on the parking lights, and tap the needle to one of the contacts inside of the light socket, and if the bulb lights up inside the handle of the tester on that socket, then thats the constantly on wire, and when you turn your hazards on, and tap the needle to the other contact, the light in the handle should blink with the blinker...therefor wire colors are not needed to do the wiring!

Hehe is this why you chose to start this chat in the EG+ forum? Welcome to H-T, and browse around a little bit, you might find the General/Off-Topic section more fun and friendly. The stuff in the car specific forums, isn't really exciting and a lot of us are sarcastic and basically d*cks.

can anyone confirm this ? i though it was the opposite.
what's the JDM way to do it ?
