turbo muffler on n/a car
recently i put a hole in the 5zigen can. A guy thats lives near me has a apexi n1 turbo muffler.....would this really effect performance or just make it loud as hell?????
It would be loud as hell, and you'd lose quite a bit of backpressure. In the low rpm's you'd lose some torque, but you'd gain some on the top end.
What's the piping size on it? If it's very large, it would sound pretty bad when you're going slow. Very buzzy and sputtery. Imagine blowing through a straw....then imagine blowing through a straw that's 1 inch in diameter. All that will go through are sputtering puffs of air with no control/rhythm, and some spit. It's the same for your motor.

you'll be fine. I have a turbo n1 muffer with 2.25 inch mendrel piping, and a magnaflow resonator, and a jdm 2.5 inch collector header, and i love the way it sounds. not too sure on the power cuase i haven't gotten it dyno'd, but i do love it
