I know there are hundreds of threads about these inserts, but I couldn´t find any answer to my questions..

I bought the ES engine mount pack (no16.1106) from Summit and I got a carton with 3 mount inserts..
The ones I have changed are the ones I have redmarked with circle on the picture..




Now.... The questions are..

*Shouldn´t you change all the mounts as there are 5 of them, and I have only changed 3 of them??
*Why aren´t they included in the ES total kit?
*Can I get hold of them from ES as separates?
*If I can, what are their art.no ?

 

you really only need to change the front and rear mounts because they take all the tourqe, the sides just prevent movement and i'm guessing that they include the one upper mount for "looks"

 

The ES inserts are for the rear mount, and the 2 front lower mounts. The inserts are only for the mounts that control the torque of the motor (front to back movement, not side to side). When u put them in, u will notice more vibrations.

 

I have more vibrations in the car as it is now..

So I have put them wrong?

The ones I have in the transmission mount, I should place in the right front mount?

Because the ones I inserted into the transmission mount fitted like a glow..
But if they are for the right front mount, then the both mounts are identical..?

When it comes to the upper mount, the side engine mount, I had to press out the original mount to insert all 3 parts into it.. So I guess it´s not just for looks..

So If I got this right...
The only mounts I have to change is the rear one, the front left and the front right?
The transmisson mount and the side engine mounts are unnecessary?

Lots of questions but I´m learning..

So I shouldn´t care for the other 2 mounts??
But are there any insert availible for those 2 mounts also?
Who manufacture them in that case?

Many people will say **** about how it looks bad but those are the same people who bitch and moan when people buy cheaper coilovers cuz they aren't functional. This is a funcional part right?

 

I have done that and i honestly believe it is worthless

I don't need to do it for a performance thing, it's just that mine are non existant and its annoying.

 

I rather use fabricated inserts than filling them up myself..
That´s for several reasons..
I don´t have the patiences to let it dry, I can´tr have the car standing as I use it everyday, It feels like fabricated inserts is more genuine..

I didn´t say it it dosen´t work..
But it´s not my kind of fiddle..

 

mmm, i filled my engine mounts with 3m window weld and i felt a VERY noticeable difference.....
because its cheap doesnt mean its bad...
the nissan guys have been doing this for years

Did you fill the lower torque mounts only? or did you fill in the side motor mounts also? I ask only because I am only going to fill the lower torque mounts right now (mine are non-existant) and then get the motor mounts in a little bit when I get some $.

i filled all 3 torque mounts.
front 2 and rear.
the side ones are not necessary
