Hot Honda
Recently my honda was getting hotter than usual. I had the water pump, timming belt, thermostate, radiator cap, spark Plugs and a few more belts changed. It was running good, but heated up the faster my car went. We think it is the head gasket, but ran a compression test to make sure. After the test it will not start now. It turns over, but acts like it sin't getting spark. I smell gas so it is getting fuel. Any help>>
If it turns over pull a plug and wire and crank it on all cylinders to see if you are are getting spark.
!) disconnect plug wire
2)remove plug
3)reattach plug and wire
4)ground plug to something in engine bay
5)crank car
6)replace and check other cylinders
If you aren't getting spark it is probably something electrical or with your ignition.
You can pull your dizzy cap and test your ignition coil (just replaced mine yesterday).
If you are getting spark then it could be fuel related (even if you smell fuel) .
edit: As far as the car running hotter...I would suggest checking fluid levels, fluid quality and see if the fans are operational

if it doesn't over heat at an idle but only when going done the road. Have some one hold the motor at cruising rpms and check the lower radiator hose. It can get soft and actually be sucked shut by the water pump at higher rpms. As for the starting problem sure sounds ignition to me. Did it throw any codes when it wouldn't start?
No codes at all. It has ran great and after he did the compression test it wouldn't start. It just turns over. Almost like when the rotar is in the wrong place. Unfortunatley my husband is a chevy guy.
