Default LS/VTEC Oil Squirter Question

Ok, so I own a 99 Si, I bought a GSR block w/ ITR USDM pistons. The # 3 rod bearing was spun. SO I decided to do what I understand to be the "true" way of doing LS/VTEC. Im looking for an LS crank now. I already have the LS rods, and will use the ITR pistons. My question is about the oil squirters. It seems there wasnt a lot of clearance even with the GSR Crank, and then again, the # 3 squirter was bent and chewed up, probably from the bearing spinning.

Anyway, When adding the slightly larger LS Crank, what needs to be done to the oil squirters to make sure there is enough clearance so this doesnt happen again.

Thanks!!

you have to bent the squiter and check the clearance should be between .007 or .006

How is this a "true" way of doing an LS/vtec? Your just stroking the engine a little bit. And its really not worth that much, for the amount of torque you might get. you'll have a better rod ratio with the gsr crank. Good luck though.

you will gain more with the LS crank....more displacement equates to more power output. Rod to Stroke ratio concern is for cars that are daily driven only and travel a lot of miles. This combo will be able to rev just as easy as the GSR crank, but high speed balancing should be considered.

If Im not mistaken, the LS and GSR r/s ratio's arent that far apart

Pretty close.......but you will gain a little more displacement.
