hey guys as it stands now i have a 91 civic dx with a D15b sohc vtec, the vtec is hooked up to a switch which activates at full throttle. i wanna hook it up so it'll engage at a certain rpm as oppose to full throttle. anyhow is there a vtec controller available for my set up?? the car has a sohc zc ecu. the cars also running super rich, so is it a possiblity to get a vtec controller with the ability to adjust fuel aswell??? what do u guys think??? any suggestions would be great, thanks again

yes. It's called a VAFC, check classifieds or ebay, made by Apexi

Yes. I'm sure you're not performing all that great with VTEC activation at WOT... You can also adjust fuel -/+ %30 at 16 different RPM points.

okay here's what I've been wondering, does the VAFC/fields Vtec controller create its own vtec signal? In other words could I stick to my stock ecu and just wire up vtec to that or does it need and input signal for vtec from the ecu?

You still need the signal to the ECU, the VAFC is just an ECU Piggyback.

Well, when I had mine, Sometimes I'd have to hit the VAFC because the car would start to sputter. The car starts easier with the Apexi too. The Fields internal battery sucks too.

hang on hang on!! My ecu is not set up for VTEC. so whats this all mean??? I can't use a vtec controller or i can??? I was told to convert the ecu over to a vtec one is a costly proceedure as my car is originally a 91 civic DX that had DPFI and is now converted over as an MPFI. No vtec in this equation. its hooked up to a switch. What do i do??

you can still do it with the vtec controller. an ecu that activates vtec does'nt need the controller.
