Default quieting the rex

okay, its always a good thing to be loud as hell, but now I'm living in my new little rural town of La Maddalena off the coast of Sardinia, where my car can probably be heard from Rome. So, how do I make that little bastard quieter? Not necessarily from the exhaust, but engine wise. I have a b18a1, with some work done to it:
stage 2 crower cams
crower dual valve springs
port and polish (mild)
greddy header
Thermal Exhaust 2 3/4 in
Toda flywheel
skunk2 intake manifold
and a custom cold air intake....

so, what can I do? I don't have a lot of Honda assets around me, so its probably going to be something that I can engineer.

So stories please, what have you guys done?

Do you have a resonator?

put the stock intake box w/ a high flow K&N drop in back in.

I know about the resonator, I still have mine.
and when I say a "custom intake" thats a 3 in aluminum pipe going to my stock air box with a high flow K&N filter. I at least have that part right. But over all noise. Like the damn thing chattering and ****. I've heard just about everybodies swap is loud- but its a little unnerving to drive around with the loudest damn car in italy. what about padding, or some way to tune it. I know I need a valve job (thats the damn chattering) but anything else?

my car is loud as f*ck. I could probably give a old man a hard attack if i hit the gas next to him. I just practice control and learned to drive in 5th gear at 20 mph.

The reason the stock air box is quiet is the lower half of the box before the filter muffles a lot of the noise. Aftermarket intakes are just a filter on piping. I once took the lower half of the box off so it was just the filter taped on to the plastic intake piping and it was LOUD! on open throttle.

So my theory of quieting your intake is to put a box of whatever sound deadening material around the filter, cut a hole in the box for ait flow, and maybe run a tube to the front of the car to get some air. That's what I would do.

And a valve job wouldn't hurt with the aftermarket header.... Maybe sound deadening material under the hood and around the engine bay? This might be the worst idea of all but I dunno. Heat bad. GL!

sound dampening material might work. You might want to retime the thing, if you haven't in a while, help keep the engine running smooth, hence less noise. This last thing I can't stress enough, don't dump the clutch at 6,000 rpm's!!! j/k

so you know exactly what I'm going through. I never noticed how loud the engine was until driving through narrow *** streets! my house has a small archway where the front gate is- dood, every time I drive through there I think that I'm on an airfield!
