Default Quick questions on DIY EG headlights

I am about to DIY my headlights black and I had a question about the corner light. I am gonna do the main headlight black and I want to take apart the turn signal and somehow paint it to match the headlight. Does anyone have any recommendations on this? Like which part to paint black so it looks good?

scuff it down with some rough grit sand paper. and then prime. after prime paint. after paint then clear.

hi temp is recommended as the bulbs get REAL hot.

also scuff up the insides lightly and MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE you dont have any crap or fingerprints on the insides of the lenses.

im trying to paint the insides to match my car, which is the black paint i got, if i use this regualr paint what will happen? I know the heat may mess it up but there aint no high-temp clear coat so even if i were to use high-temp black and then clear coat it , iut would still get messed up from the heat right? Or would the heat really mess it up at all?

you are saying you are going to paint the inside of the headlights?

are you doing it to make the headlight look like it has lids or are you painting the reflective part in the back and keeping the lense clear?

if your paining the lens black to make it look like lids ... you dont need clear .... trust me it is the same concept as painting RC car bodies .... paint the inside and it will be shinning on the outside through the plastic

Oh yeah I have heard that a lot of guys bake the corners for a little bit and then seperate them ..... but be carful .... then the use silicone glue to put them back together

I don't think you'll have to worry about heat with regular paint for what you're doing. I've used regular paint on calipers and no problems so I would imagine that this would be ok.

Baking corners is a bad idea... I had some extra ones laying around and I tried it once... They usually melt. If they don't melt, then they are too hard to pry apart and then they crack.. It's a lose lose situation... Just buy new ones...
