am i crazy?
just replaced all 4 tires on my 96 ex and for some reason the steering does not feel as tight. they are the same size tires that where on there previously (205 60 15). the steering wheel feels loose, like it has to much play in it. am i just imagining things or could there be a cause for this..........

The reason why the steering doesn't feel as tight is probably because the sidewalls on your tires are taller than what they should be. With an upgrade to 205 width tires, the profile should be 55 for a 15" wheel, not 60. So you should have gotten 205/55/15's.

i forgot to mention that it is a v6 so i think the tires shoud be 205 60 15 right? i could be wrong, i am the second owner so i dont know what size originally came on the car, i was just going by what i was replacing
edit: i just checked online and 205/60R15 are the correct tire for the v6 sedan

newer tread / less treadwear can also be a factor so dat ur car is less responsive... a car with less tread is faster to react than new tires which have more rubber on top n give more in turns since there is obviously more rubber to get jiggy with
A simple cheap tire could be all there is to it. I know on bigger vehicles like full size vans and trucks, if you buy a cheap tire that has a funky tread pattern they can get very squirrely on the road. Some times it can be down right scary to drive. Now, I don't know if a light weight car will be affected by a cheap tire like that, because I tend to not buy the $55 a tire set.
