Shaking Steering Wheel
I have a 96 CX hatch, and when I hit speeds about 70 mph, the wheel gets real shaky. I've talk to people and they said, it could be you alignment. I had another say since I don't have power steering, the shaking is normal and you don't have power steering to absorb it.
Has anyone had a problem with this, or even knows whats wrong. And how can I fix this? If it can be fixed
thanks

Check your tires. My friend had the same problem, his alignment pulled to the left but after he switched his front tires left to right and vice versa, it started pulling to the right. I'm guessing that's why your steering wheel shakes. Slight chance it may be a broken engine mount too.

as stated... get the tires checked first, then the alignment. Some shops will even take a look at the car first to tell yah if it needs it and it wont cost yah anything. Of course its sorta like a "Free Break Inspection" of course they are gonna say you need it

Re: Shaking Steering Wheel (sparq)
if they didnt do it when u first got the tires chance s it uneven wear on the tires..*alignment*..if the tires are new then its wheel balancing..last, the first 2 are ok..then its the wheel aligning flush against the rotor, very common with aftermarket wheels..then hub rings would be the answer...been there and done it..ive been lucky since i bought my wheels at americas tires they ve been good getting the hub rings whenever i need d them..as far as aftermarket wheels laying flush ..rota and enkie are very good..had rotas on the civic and enkie s on the mitsu

Re: Shaking Steering Wheel (ransack)
first of all is the car lowered? if it is, you can not do an alignment due to your suspension and the tires cambering. most likely its your tires get them balanced, mos likely when they installed your tires on the rims they didn't balance the tires i've had that problem before, if it still shakes check your motor mounts or steering column for lose bolts i've seen it happen before but normally this happens on a non-power steering vehicle
