Default What to expect with an AEM V2?

I am thinking about getting an AEM V2 for my 95 Civic LX. What should I expect in performance increase with this thing? What about problems?

Thanks,

'azoid

yeah, 175 at the flywheel.

By saying that the b16 drivers were not bad, you're basically claiming that the V2 gave you 20+whp.

Ditto my bro has a V2 on this 00 EX Civic and it bumped things up a little, got better gas mileage, but for the most part it just got louder, so in the end i dont think it was worth the 200+ dollars

Yeh, every car I have had never gained more than 3-5HP from any intake.. I have owned I-4's and a 24 valve V6.. Never more than 3-5HP, but ease in accelration did increase. Personally my opinion is to build you own intake setup and spend the saved money on internals and turbo/sc.. Not as though 100 bucks will buy a turbo/sc/NOS, but it is money that could be saved towards it! If you have the financial situations I do, every little bit counts!

I think we should stop hating on.. peoples bolt ons.. it was a simple question if u guys question the specs on the v2 then go to the aem website and check it out.. and see what the dyno charts... say

no worries not pissed at yall pissed that my motor mounts are broke and my upper tranny bolt mount broke through my tranny.. now that 1000 that i have to spend to fix that could have went to a turbo.... for my ls.. civic. damn damn damn ...

B18b1 nothing is wrong with the tranny itself its the casing were the mount bolt enters the tranny.. but im not sure if i buy the mounts and not get it repaired will the bottom 2 bolts that go on the underside rear tranny mount be sufficient especially since i race so frequently at the albq dragway.

You can't trust some companies claims. Nitrous express claimed you could get an extra 52 ponies from their N-Tercooler system. I posted asking if anyone had one. The owners said they got 5-7.

egcoupe: yeah i got about 90wheel horsepower when i got my new intake........but it was the same time my B18C was dropped in! noobs are funny. to $200 intakes. Intakes are NOTHING, get a $20 ebay intake and get the same performance. Tell your buddies with their b16's that they need to get compression tested bc something is seriously wrong if you beat them with an intake, or they have 500lb sound systems in their car (and im saying this assuming that they are good drivers as you say). Anywho, good choice with the b18c, youll definally eat those b16's alive once you get that. Good luck with everything.

freakazoid: get an ebay intake

Default seem to be a lot of crappy information on the net about intake

You guys seem to have a consensus that intake doesn't do much. I can't justify spending 270 bucks to gain 3-5 hp. That's just absurd! what's up with the noob bashing anyhow? Don't you forget you were once a noob. Anyway, thanks for the answers. I have other things I can use the money for.

Not going to do an engine swap. That money is better saved for another car. Besides, I like my engine fine. It is going to give me at least another 100K before it dies. It's a Honda!

Before you flame me. I like my engine, but I was wondering what would happen if I spend $200+ on an intake.

Cheers,

'azoid

Very well spoken. I feel sorry for you if you think an intake makes your car "modified".
