Default First time at the races....

Well i just got back from my first drag race event ever, and it was a lot of fun. I got to meet a lot of cool people, and got some good track time under my belt. All together i got 6 runs in, and i was there from 3:30-11:00.

I have a 92 cx hatch, with a stock d15b, with a short ram, running with the CX tranny! and thats it...I semi-stripped the car, took out back seats, pass. seat, and spare tire.

Best run of the day..

R/T = .003
60ft = 2.436
330= 6.861
1/8= 10.543
MPH = 66.53
1000 = 13.724
1/4 = 16.396
MPH= 85.81

It was a lot of fun, and was kinda cool because with the CX tranny i could finish at red-line in 2ND GEAR!!!...lol, tire pressure was at 25 psi also...

Yeah I'm thinking if he can pull 85mph in 2nd gear he will drop his time a lot by getting an si tranny, and/or smaller tires too.

That 60ft and transmission are horrible...

If your launch was better and you had the Si tranny...i'd say 14's are extremely possible

I/H/E and sohc Vtec tranny and 14's are yours. I ran 14.8's and 14.9's at 92 on street tires in my DX. A friend of mine hit 14.5 @ 94 with teh same setup but in the winter on street tires.

thanks a lot everyone...

Yah i know the 60ft's suck, but im going to blame that on inexperience, and the long tranny...

I would hit the limiter about 5ft before the finish line..which helped a lot since i didnt have to make a 2-3 shift...

Still not sure if i should buy a tranny or make a custom turbo kit tho....?

As far as a turbo kit, i was looking at getting a t25 or td04/td05, with a dodge stealth TT FMIC, and a Vortech FMU...

Before i had any bolt-ons i would be shifting right to 3rd as i crossed the line in the 1/8 mile.

Now with i/h/e it isn't like that.
