No you don't, but I would use some type of water injection to cool your intake temps.

Save your money and buy one of these... http://www.lhtperformance.net/products.html

Much better way to spend your money then a bullshit water injection setup. With the intercooler you'll see an average of 100 degree temp drop. Wanter injection will not do this. Trust me....

When you spray meth it has the same effect as boosting the motor octane, you can run more boost and timing than you can without it. Not all the gains are made by dropping the IAT's.

On that note, I would go with the intercooler, because I would rather rely on that instead of another injection system to let me run X amount of boost. Less hassle, less to worry about.

Do you even have any experience with water injection, because from the comments you made you haven't got a clue. Trust me, it does work and yes i have personally seen a 85 degree drop in intake air temps on a b16 with 11psi and a 70 degree drop on a gsr with 9psi. My peronal setup now consists of the lht intercooler system as well as a custom water injection system. Even though i purchased the lht, i would never give up on my water injection system after seeing how effective it could be when properly tuned. You can't just slap a water/alky system on a car and call it a day, it does richin up the air fuel mixture if your spraying methanol and you need to take advantage of the cooling effects with increasing timing in order to make some real power

it comes down to the limited amount of water and the unlimited cooling of the lht jrsc intercooler.. the jrsc water injection cost around 4 to 5 hundred.. and its 800 last i remember for ther intercooler mod..

I have the Aquamist kit, and it works. I paid 400 on Ebay, brand new. I will tell you now, that if your into spending somewhere near the 1500 price tag, sell the JRSC and buy a turbo. If money is tight, get the WI. I will tell you now, this WI kit is not a band aid. It does what it supposed to do. Cool the compressed air in the intake manifold. I would use at least 50/50 Meth/water. It will richen up your AFR, just bump the fuel down under boost (the kit has a boost pressure switch to come on at whatever boost setting you want). Cause what your doing is shooting more fuel (Methanol, which by the way, some people know, raises the octane) in the mix. Instead of shooting fuel through the injector, into the runner, it's going in earlier in the stream in the manifold (through the compressed, hot air to cool it). There is always some sort of drawback to any remedy. But the people who say this is a bandaid for bad tuning, not in this case. It's main objective is to cool the compressed air, and that's what it does, period

btw since money is tight, look into building your own water injection setup or purchase the snowperformance.net stage 1 setup and get the smallest nozzle they have which i think is a 175ml nozzle. The only thing with the snowperformance.net system is that you will have to take the manifold of in order to make a tap for the nozzle. Or you could use everything the stage one kit has and purchase the nozzle from the jackson racing kit and use the standard nozzle tap on the manifold. Ethier way, if you need help designing your own system or if you want some advice on using the snowperformance.net setup hit me up with a PM
