Default 92' Accord LX--2 Electrical Problems

Hey Gang!

These 2 problems are unrelated as they started at separate times.

1) All of these things stopped working at the same time: Intermittent Windshield Wiper, Rear Defroster, Door Chime, Power Antenna. I assume they must be on the same circuit. I checked all fuses, but they are all good. Any ideas on cause and fix.

2) This second problem only happens in cold weather and the colder outside the worse. My Blinker/Turn Signals take several seconds to come on (especially the left one). They just click for a few seconds before they start working. If it's freezing outside it can take them more than 1 minute to come one.
I already had a mechanic replace the Flasher, but this didn't help.

Any suggestion greatly appreciated!

its electrical. check all the fuses in the engine compartment and the fuses under the steering wheel. and check the relays too which are located at the same places.

I have been having problems finding any one with really good first hand knowledge of the electrical system on these things also. No one can seem to tell me or even give me a lead on my wiper problems. Sounds very much like what you’re having problems with. If I turn my wipers on in the morning when the car is cold it could take them up to 3 mins to respond no matter what you set the switch to. But if you turn them off they sweep once like they are going back to park. And if I turn the switch on again before they return to park they will stop where ever they are. But once they start to respond like they should I never have a problem with them again until the car is cold. Even the dealer can't give me any place to start looking.
I guess once I get my ranger back on the road I will have to rip into this thing and figure it out.

If all of the fuses are ok, I would start with the multi function switch and then the wiper relay.

Re: #2. I have also seen this happen occasionally (more so when colder) on my '92 Accord LX. My local dealership advised its related to the wand in the steering column. They said replacing it would take care of this problem. Right now it hasn't happened in awhile, so I left it as-is.

Thank You and everyone else for the tips!

I have never heard of this "wand." Did the dealer give you any idea of the cost of replacement?

I appreciate everyone's help!
