ok im about to install eagle rods with CP pistons. am i supposed to install spacers on the dowel pin on either side of a rod? i dunno how to explain well. im concerned because theres so much side to side play when the rods are on the pistons.

also how do i take the OEM dowel pins out of OEM pistons? looks like theres 2 dowel pins per piston/rod.

 

i have cp pistons and eagle.. but have not installed yet.. next week.. but bump for some one to help you.

 

its calledx free floating. that is normal.

They fit into the grooves cut into the piston pin area. They hold the piston pin in place so it won't slide out and hit the cylinder. You install one of them in the piston, slide the pin thru the other side and through the rod. Then install the C clip on the other side. This is going to be hard for you to do the first time. Be careful the C clip does not go flying out on you as you do this. As to rod placement, the bearing tang sides face to the exhaust side.
As to your stock pistons the pins must be pushed out with a press.
