Default Distributor Help

When I first found out about HT, it was because my car turned off on me and wouldnt start and I wanted to know what the cause was. Well with all you guys help I found out it was the distributor, so I got a used one guaranteed from a import place and bam, the car started. Question is, upon inspecting my distributor, the ignition coil was all fucked up, bending up like it was "uncoiling" about half way and I wanted to know if this is the reason why my car wouldnt start. Cause if so, I still have the old distributor and I can just replace the ignition coil, cap and rotor and sell it. This is for a D16Z6 on a 94 Civic EX Coupe.

yeah test it first, but be weary man cause i checked ignition coils at auto part stores when mine screwed up and they averaged $150, a new dizzy cost's $200. you decide if it's worth it, but good luck on selling it if you do
