Default Replacing Studs and lug nuts on the Type R.

Today I rotated my tires and I had my second stud completely snap off thanks to America Tire Company incredible work with their power tools.

Many of the other studs are stripped making it hard to even get my rims back on the car.

I was thinking about replacing all studs and purchasing some new lug nuts and was wondering if anyone had some reccomendations and a website that I could find the products.

Thanks for any help.

Adam,

You may find aftermarket extended studs at websites like JC Whitney or something similar. The only downside is you'd have to purchase new lugs which are open ended.

If you do decide to go with OEM studs and lugnuts, please give me a call.

Are you sure it's the studs and not the lug nuts? Usually, when you have problems with screwing the lugs on, it's the lugs that are stripped, not the studs. I would suggest trying a new lug nut on each one, and if it doesn't turn nice and smooth with no resistance, then replace the stud too.

Len, do you guys just sell 4 new Lock nuts?? I am missing one and need to buy a new set of 4 so they all match. Only need 4 locks and the lock itself, the other lug nuts are fine

Helped my buddy change his studs this past weekend, it's pretty easy. You can buy ARP studs for under 75 (4 lug) at Autobac's.

Here's a link to my friends topic about the studs

I have read that the Skunk2 studs don't work to well, and people have ended having to weld them to the hub
