Greg,
You can wire up a potentiometer or "pot" use and ohm meter to set the resistance to your desired setting. Below is a chart of ohm settings for the pot. If you can find a cliking type potentiometer, this will make finding and changing the settings easier.

Shift light
3.0=1.90 ohms
4.6=3.25
4.8=3.42
5.0=3.60
5.2=3.80
5.4=4.0
5.6=4.20
5.8=4.40
6.0=4.60
6.2=4.80
6.3=4.90
6.4=5.00
6.5=5.10

Just to make sure are those resistance values in Ohms or Kohms

Thanks Greg, but me and electronics don't mix. (I have no idea what that is you just posted)

I was hoping to find someone with an extra pill I could just "plug-n-play". I know I have several extras that I can't use...I thought I'd get lucky.

I might still have some in the cave known as my garage. I can check when I get home (I may have thrown them away, I can't remember)

ITA, can we get the potentiometer from Radio Shack?

Greg, if your interested I would like to help you try this. Sounds interesting. Doesn't sound too difficult and i have the ohm meter. This will give you adjust-ability.

I know of an electronics surplus store in Bellevue that has tons of them for like $1 a pop. I could pick one up for ya Greg...

So how exactly do you wire it?

There are 3 leads on the pot, connect your ohm meter to the middle and right leads. Next turn the pot and find the resistance your are looking for. Disconnect your ohm meter and connect the pot to the shift light.

Issues to think about:
Try looking for a click type pot so that making changes is more easy.
Mounting your pot might take some creativity. I just used double sided tape, no bling in my shift light.

If it helps-I have a 6.6 still in the package. e-mail me at bjc836@yahoo.com if interested.

I am sorry but a 6.6 just won't do. We are just going to have to fiddle with it.
Just take some inspiration from an Adam Sandler movie man "You can dooo ittt".
After a few beers it will get even easier.

There is something wrong with these numbers. I have never heard of a resistor coming in a 3.42 ohm. You must be talking about K ohms. Lets clear this up before the guy fries his tach.
