anyway to hard wire a shift lite?
i have a 5" monster tach. autometer sport comp silver. one day it took a **** and now you can't set the shift lite for anything over 900 rpms. don't know what the problem is? it has been like a year and a half since i bought it so i am screwed, but i was wondering if there is anything i could buy cheap to activate just the shift lite off of it at a certain rpm, and just run a stock gauge cluster from an ex or something? thanks alot.

Re: anyway to hard wire a shift lite? (SOHC Beast)
the only problem is that your shift light doesn't know when to operate. They sell the shift lights for like 75 bucks and then you need to get the rpm pills..... thats about it

what you want to do is simple. the only thing you have to find is a ground, and 12v power source.

I'm using this shiftlamp.
It just plugs into the cig. lighter and monitors your power from the alternator I believe, you actually have to set it by testing it, but it's very accurate. I'll get some pics of it as soon as I can. I just put it right near the gauge cluster.
each hash mark is roughly 2k rpm. I'll put it this way, the brightness is adjustable and at full, it lights up the entire car, just dont get confused and think your being pulled over everytime it goes off like I do.

My shift light was only $75, and I did wire it up, it's very easy. just find the power wire (12v) near the cig. lighter.
