Default How long to break in b16a?

I waited till 800mi before I rev'd up to 8K. Now I have a 1200mi on the motor and I am anxious to hit the N20 soon. Do I really need to wait till after the first oil change (3000mi)?

My buddy started squirt'n at 800mi and he has never had problems, same swap same zex kit.

Thanks

Dont wait until 3000 miles for 1st oil change!..you crazy..with all those little metal filings floating around in there after a fresh rebuilt...you shouldve changed it at 1000 miles then every 3000 after that...do your engine a favor..get that **** out of the engine as soon as possible!

Dude, its not a rebuilt and yeah I did change before I dropped it in. Thanks for answering the question.

So, does anyone have a recommendation for how long to wait before using nitrous.

So wait, you bought it NEW?

Or approx. 30K on it used?

If it was previously used, there's no need to "break it in", as long as it's not re-built. Take it easy on it for 500miles or so if you're really that worried, and change the oil after the first 1000, do your next one @ 3000, (2000 after the 1st) then go 3000 between changes.

Honeslty though, after 20 or 30 minutes of running again after the swap, you should be able to go out and beat on it.....

Well, we have been breaking in most of the motors off this last crate that we bought cause they have been sitting for so long. The main problem was with the nissan and mazda motors but I was going to do the first 1000mi of driving as careful as possible.

Some have been sitting for years and they drain all the oil before they ship. Not really breaking it in but just gettting parts re-aquainted, know what I mean?
