SRR LCA's
Did a search but did not find the answer I'm need.
About to pull off my neuspeed lower tie bar and but on a comptech tie bar/sway bar kit with SRR lca's on the car. This is on a 94 civic coupe dx. The ? i have is about the u-shaped brace from comptech and how it bolts to the lca. I know i need to buy a bolt to mount this, but I'm worried about the larger contact patch of the u-brace compared to a bolt on the other side. Was planning on doing a washer about the same size as the contact patch as the u-brace to = the stress or am i doing this for as overkill. Any problems with the bolt plate on the lca cracking out.
Any input would greatly be appreciated
Thanks Todd

What are you asking?
The comptech bar comes with bolts, and instructions for installation - which are also posted on their site - http://www.comptechusa.com/instructions/ins078.pdf. The fact that you have SRR lca's is irrelevent. The subframe brace doesn't mount to the lca, it mounts to the subframe, and through the lca.

Sorry, must have worded it wrong. Where the sway bar ties to the lca. I've hear of it called a helms joint. This is where the sway bar bolts to the lca with a u-shaped brace. On one side of the lca it has the brace and on the other is only has a the bolt. The surface area from one side is larger than the other. I'll try to find the photo some where in here.

Why not? Even if you don't need it, it will at least get rid of the worry in the back of your head.
I guess the only draw back is that it will make you $.50 poorer.

Just looking at this 22mm bar and figuring a steel plate on one side of the lca and on the other, a NUT. With a piece of aluminum between them looks to me like a stress fracture waiting to happen. Have not gotten the lca's in yet, but did not know what situation had taken place.
Ok... that makes sense.
I've always wondered about the swaybar mount on those arms... it does seem like a potential weak-point, but then again, I've never heard of one failing.
