help. vtec isn't working after swap.
first, yes i've searched and still am.
i've got a 95 dx hatch and swapped a d16z6 into it with p28 ecu. i had a buddy offer to wire up vtec for me, and me being the lazy guy i am i let him. he's done a b16 into his hatch and isnt a dumbass so i trusted him. but he wired everything up jsut like the howto on H-T says to and nothing.....
codes being thrown are 21, 22 and 41. we double checked and triple checked the wiring and we even triple checked the double and double checked the triple check and everything is right. we called a buddy who owns a shop and works on hondas all the time and those guys couldnt really say much without looking at it. so we dont know. any ideas? an easy fix that we are just looking over? o2 will be fixed and code 41 will be gone very soon.
any ideas are greatly appreciated. thanks for any and all help.... back to more searching.

did you try and see if the solenoid clicks by running a wire to it and a 12v pwoer source?
did you pin the harness from looking at it head on or looking at it as if it was plugged into the ecu? i know people that messed up there.
the pressure switch colors are orng/blu the other wire would be a common ground
the vtec solenoid is orng/white wire.
those 2 wires are on the side coming out of the firewall.
next would be take off the solenoid and check the screen the clogging stuff on it.
if still not woking um try a different working ecu. one that you know is good.
then check oil pressure
if still nothing you might want to check the pressure switch
um........... after that it becomes bad news(well it did in my case)

havent tried the 12v source yet.
the wiring is going straight from the the motor through the firewall and into the ecu. its a dx and not a 92 so it wasnt prewired with vtec.
my buddy who was doing the wiring put the ecu in his b16 vx and it worked fine besides his fuel cutoff became 7500 instead of 8000+
the 2 wires that go into the ecu a6 and d4 (its late could have the #s and letters mixed up) are in the only places they could go because the other slots where you could mistake a6 and d4 to be had wired in them already. so we're not sure we'll check those other things you mentioned within the next day or 2 and report back. thanks man
. anyone else?
