I have a sony xplod cd player, and sometimes the cd player just cuts out. When its off the cig lighter wont work, and the climate control wont either. If I mess with the buttons on the climate control, sometimes it will trigger the cd player to turn on, and vice versa. It dosent happen all the time, just sometimes.
I re-checked all my speaker connections, and they are fine.
Anyone have this problem? Ryan

Well, its not a bad ground in the engine bay... Ive done 2 swaps, with no change. What ground do you mean? Like on my radio? Where are they? Thanks
Did you wire the CD player up yourself?
If so, did you use a harness adaptor kit or did you just splice into wires?

I wired it up myself, then I sent the player back to sony, and they said it was good. So I paid like 40 bux for a shop to wire it up, and they did the same thing as I did only they used butt connectors (or whatever those things are called). Still same problem. Ryan

Invest $14 in one of the DIY radio installation kits. That will ensure that you have all the wiring correct. Solder (if needed) and tape up all the wires from the previous installs. If you STILL have the problem, then try temporaliy wiring the power direct from the battery and see if that helps.

Oh, im sorry, yes I have the 14 dollar kit installed. So I should try wiring the power direct from the battery?
ok...if you have the install kit, that should not effect your climate control, or your lighter. All that wiring runs from under the dash, but not normally through the entertainment wiring harness. I would re-check all your connections and grounds under the dash that would have anything to do with the stereo, climate, or lighter. Check all you fuses, and also check for any breaks in any lines that may have ground themselves out. To me, it sounds like something is loose, broken, or put together like crap coming off the underdash fuse box. hth...
by the way, is this boseri?...just noticed the monterey tab...pm me for my number, and maybe you and i can trouble shoot it some more.
hey Ryan. sounds like you have 2 issues going. The main power for the stereo seems bad. either its loose or to a bad switched power source. As far as the cig light and climate I believe those are on the same fused circuit so check the fuse on them -Vee
