what happens when the ignition switch doesnt work? Does the engine not even turn over, or does it just not let the fuel pump kick on, becuz i kno im getting spark, and the starter is turning over, just no fuel.
had the same issue...i had a jdm sohc swapped in my ef, and somewhere along the line, the harness got messed up from being pinched and rubbing. Anyways, we thought it was the main relay, then the ecu, none of which were the prob, then had our wiring guy check it out, and he re-ran some of the ecu harness wires that shorted, and also double checked all the relays...i would start there...worse comes to worse, change the ignition switch...that is also what signals the fuel pump to prime once you click into the accessory on the ignition...so hth...
What is your fuel level?, Have you replaced the fuel filter?, Check connections at the ecm, check all grounding areas on the harness, and check all fuses. If you have power at the fuses check the power wire back at the fuel pump and make sure you have power there if not you might have a break or short in the wire to the pump. If all else fails replace the pump. If you get fuel eventually and still no start check the distributor. Good luck

If it was the ignition switch the car would not even attempt to crank, it sounds like the main relay, you described all the symptoms pretty much.

Actually, the ignition switch warning signs is that it will crank but not turn over....this was the exact case my friends 89 hatch...bone stock everything. He bought the car and the first few days it ran fine, then he would go to crank it and it would try and try and never turn over because he was not getting fuel because the ignition switch was never activating it. The next day, he bought a new switch, and problem solved...
Now, thats not saying that in this case it is or is not the ignition switch, but for my situation is was...hth

problem here is, i just redid the entire car, never touched anything that has to do with fuel or ignition switch or any of that ****, and yet it will not fire back up. Where is the ignition switch? Right down the column below the key?

Actually if the ignition switch is bad the car will not even crack since it supplies power to the starter.

if you turn the key to the on position and you dont hear the fuel pump prime, and your fuel pump and main relay are fine its your ignition switch! stop posting and go get one and put it in already!!!!!!!! if that dont work you can joke me all day long.
