Default 91 CRX Engine Swap. Please help.

Good evening everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Well, I have had my CRX for about a year now, and have done some major bodywork on my own. I have also custom fabricated fiberglass everything inside (panels, console, sound system etc.). I am great with body stuff, but when it comes to motors, I dont know too much, and would like some help from people on these forums.

I have a stock 1.8l 4cyl in my rex, and it just isnt fast enough. I want to do an engine swap.

My questions...

1.) What different types of engines are able to be swapped in easily, and what are the better engines to buy? Integra? Vtec? etc.

Advantages and disadvantages of different motors?

If someone could go over this a bit with me, that would be very much appreciated. I want something that is pretty fast but something that wont empty my pockets as well. Thanks!

Take care and good night.

You say you have a 1.8L but if it is the stock motor it prolly isnt. If it is a 88-91 crx there are all kinds of motors that will "bolt right in"
use this link it should answer ALOT of questions for you https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch
