Hi guys,
I have a B18C with a 93 YS1 tranny hooked up to it. Right now I need some help on what to do with my cluster and cable tranny. I was just doing some research on how I'm gonna be doing my cluster, and I was wondering if I use a 94+ GSR cluster, can I use a 94+ Integra VSS (p/n 78410-ST7-003)? I believe with a 96+ Civic cluster you have to use a 92+ Civic electronic VSS. So I am assuming if I use a GSR cluster I have to use a GSR electronic VSS (p/n 78410-ST7-003).
I can still use a electronic VSS with a cable tranny right? I guess I somehow thought that a cable tranny needs a mechanical VSS/speedo, while a hydro tranny needs a electronic VSS. After readin a few threads on how to install clusters I guess I was wrong about that huh?

I also have another question for you guys with B16 and B18C swaps, but using the OEM speedo. I've heard that you can reuse the stock speedo thing that goes in the tranny. For thos of you guys that used this, what cluster are you guys running?
TIA
TIA
if using a 94+ cluster you can use any electronic vss. as long as it is 3 wire you will be ok.
im running a 96 cluster with a random vss most likely off a d16z

I see, what if I wanted to temporarily use my stock CRX DX cluster and speedo, would that work fine too? That speed should still read correctly, but what abut the Tach signal? I dont see myself going over 5K RPMs until the engine is broken in 1000 miles later, but I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong by using my stock DX cluster and speedo.

if you want to use your stock crx cluster, you must have a mechanical vss.
if you want to use a 94+ cluster, you must have an electronic 3-wire vss.
both of the vss will fit in the tranny.

So that means I can re-use the stock CRX DX speedo stuff right? just unplug it from my stock motor, and plug it into my YS1 cable tranny once the motor and tranny are in place.

This is what I may do later on. But would you happen to know what all I would need for this to work? I was going to sell the 94+ Teg VSS that I had, but it looks like I may need it if I swap clusters. I'm guessing that for the 94+ GSR cluster to work I need the following parts in the below pic? (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12)
I already have the VSS (part that is outlined in the pic). The only other thing I am unsure of is the wiring between the actual VSS and the cluster.
