Default Normal wear & Tear on Turbo's and Turbo'ed vehicles.

i searched but didnt come up with anything... anyways, i wanted to know the average amount of miles, or amount of operation turbo's take before needing a rebuild, now ive been reading that the turbine shaft "gets normal wear" making it loose from its base, with "slop" if im not mistaken. I just wanted to know how long it takes for shaft play to come in to play, and also what other parts of a turbo'd vehicle wear and which ones come first, and are most important. Im gonna confused but am still learning, been reading H-T for around 1 1/2 years now or more but registered earlier this year. GDD forums PWNS J00!

anyways, how much do turbo rebuilds cost?
anything would be really appreciated, thanks alot all.

well, depending on what kind of turbo you get, they can last almost as long as the car.

On my conquest, the stock turbo just got rebuilt at 125k, and the guy said the shaft play was still in spec, so it didnt really "need" it.

If you buy a nice new turbo, and you take care to cool it down by idling after you drive, and use good oil, and change it frequently, then it should last a long *** time
