Default Quick Question : Interior

While I was removing my rear seats I decided to take off some panels and I noticed this:

In the rear speaker area, is there supposed to be cotton in there? Did it come like that from the factory or did the last owner of my car get creative?

Here are the pics:

*I apologize for the quality of the pics*

TIA

lol the last owner was an idiot. Can that cotton make any use in keeping out noise or making the stock speakers sound any better or is it just plain stupidity? If it is then im removing it at once.

when i took my rear seats and panals apart i found...in this order

1 17mm wrench
1 large rusted socket
2 pennies
1 dime
1 dog brush
1 old mcdonalds wrapper

and a whole bunch of hair

it was damn disguisting

- not sure if you noticed, but some owners put cotton under their cars during a show to make it seem like they're on clouds

- nevermind...

Maybe the old owner was trying to smuggle a mattress. You should check to see if your struts are wrapped in box springs.
