i have just takin all the belts, hoses, and the head of my engine off. do i need to use and engine hoist or is there another way to get the block out?

 

block isn't that heavy but i would use a hoist or at least a rope from the ceiling. you might also be able to remove all the mounts and brackets and set the motor on the floor with a jack then lift the car over it and slide it out. that's how we got a sentra motor out of my friend's car, but i've never done it on a honda.

 

you could drop it thru the bottom. thats what i did.

Thats what I would do since you've removed the head. If you left the head on I'd pull it out the top.

 

if you take it out the top dont forget to remove the shiftlinkage and axles.
